The Wand by Milestone Scientific
I enjoy using the wand because it takes the intimidation factor out of giving injections. The Wand's handpiece is plastic and looks benign to the patients--unlike the familiar cold steel syringe that patients dread.

The Wand
Also helps tremendously to leave the topical in for a full 5 minutes!
I still dont like injections...
I still dont like injections, how is this really any different?
gentle anesthesia doesn't have to be uncomfortable at all!
The Wand works by very slowly dosing out the anesthetic so that the medicine gets there before the needle. There is no pressure from the anesthetic because it is given so slowly it has time to "sink in". My patients swear by the Wand and find the "ding ding" sound that the machine makes, relaxing because they know they will get numb but not feel a thing. I first got my machine when I injured my thumb rollerblading and had a hard time using the traditional needle. I could not believe that not only did my patients love how it made them numb, it also was more effective with less anesthetic and best of all it is easier on my hand! I could not possibly have the control this machine affords.
Interestingly my husband just had shoulder surgery and they sent him home with a constant drip anesthetic from a deflating vacuum pressure bulb, this meant for 3 whole days he felt nothing! Some of my MD friends tell me they now give anesthetic more slowly when they are going to stitch a wound because of my using the Wand on them!
