Dental Professionals Dedicated to Patient Comfort
Despite all the publicity about the importance of dental health, 50% of the population avoids the dentist-even if they have dental insurance. Why? Too many patients have had uncomfortable experiences. Even patients who actually go to the dentist commonly say, "Don't take this personally, Doctor, but I hate the dentist."
Dentists should be taking this personally. In movies, on television and throughout popular culture, going to the dentist is depicted as "like pulling teeth" or "as bad as a root canal." It is up to the dental profession to improve this image in the eyes of the public. Earning a better reputation so that dentists do more to improve dental health is what the Dental Comfort Academy (DCA) is all about.
DCA is an organization of dental professionals dedicated to patient comfort. It is an idea whose time has not only come, but is long overdue. By bringing conscientious dentists together with educational leaders, products, and techniques, in a culture of compassionate expertise and continual development, DCA intends to bring a high level of comfort to the patients of our members, promoting practice growth, improving public health, fostering product innovation, and building a better reputation for the dental profession.
