Video Glasses a Great Distraction for Nervous Dental Patients
Many Dental Comfort Academy dentists use sedation and nitrous oxide for helping nervous patients through their dental appointments. But sometimes a patient cannot give up a whole day to be sedated and some patients don't want nitrous oxide either. For these other patients, it is surprisingly effective to use video glasses and an entertaining DVD to distract them. I have been amazed to see patients laughing out loud at a movie while I am numbing them. You don't need a large library of videos in your office. Some of our favorites are Jerry Seinfeld Live on Broadway, Robin Williams Live, Kings and Queens of Comedy, TV episodes of Friends, Frasier and Everybody Loves Raymond, as well as popular feature length movies. We tend to favor comedies and romantic comedies while avoiding mysteries, thrillers, and violence. An excellent source for video glasses and portable DVD players is Zetronix. Zetronix has a good variety of video glasses and their customer service is tops. For about $320 you can be fully equipped with video glasses and a portable DVD player--and your patients will love you for it!

video glasses
Would like to add that the portable DVD player with the video glasses is sooooo much better/easier than trying to wire everything to a central DVD player. We've done it both ways and have far fewer problems with portable. Less expensive and easier!
