Patient Comfort

One of the keys to a comfortable injection is a bit theatrical. When a patient has been sitting with topical in their mouth for 5 minutes, they know they are about to get an injection. The last thing they want to see is a dentist in a big hurry come bursting into the operatory. Even if you operate out of multiple operatories and you are half an hour behind schedule, take a moment before you walk in. Stop, take a deep breath, and walk slowly and softly into the room. Sit down easily and approach the patient gently.
